Whether his patients need interventional procedures to treat heart attacks from coronary artery disease, or peripheral vascular procedures to prevent amputations, to providing the latest in non-interventional general cardiology care—Dr Hashmi prides himself on having the training and experience to be able to care for the full spectrum of cardiovascular diseases. His care philosophy involves developing meaningful patient-physician relationships in which each patient is treated like family.
Dr Hashmi grew up in Buffalo, New York and received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from SUNY Buffalo and Doctorate of Medicine from the AUC School of Medicine in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles. He completed his Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology training at Ascension St John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit Michigan where he was honored as Intern of the Year, Chief Medical Resident and Chief Cardiology Fellow. He is fellowship trained and Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Diseases, Nuclear cardiology and Internal Medicine.
Dr Hashmi is excited to join HeartPlace after serving as Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services at Wise Health System. Under his leadership, the institution received the ACC Silver Performance Award for heart attack care, its first since 2015. He continues to serve as Medical Director of the North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council Cardiac Committee where he is passionate about educating all levels of healthcare providers. Prior to coming to DFW in 2022, he practiced for seven years in central Florida in The Villages, where he performed extensive amputation prevention procedures and in Orlando where he started the hospital’s STEMI program. He moved to DFW with his wife, a native Texan and practicing rheumatologist, and two children to be closer to family and enjoy all that the thriving metroplex has to offer. Dr. Hashmi is committed to serving the DFW community and has offices in Alliance/Keller and North Richland Hills.
