Sandra Downey, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant working at our HeartPlace Las Colinas Clinic alongside Dr. Overbeck.

Sandra received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and minor in Spanish at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX, including a study abroad in Madrid, Spain, and then continued to attain a Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX.

During her time in PA school, she went on a medical mission trip to Honduras and set up mobile clinics in urban slums in order to deliver basic primary care services to families and individuals who otherwise lacked access.

She also led preventative health education workshops. She is a compassionate and patient-centered cardiology PA with over 6 years of experience dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by cardiovascular diseases.

Her faith shapes her commitment to service in all aspects of her practice. She is devoted and very involved in her church community. She is eager to bring a unique blend of clinical expertise and compassionate care to HeartPlace and contribute to initiatives that prioritize the well-being of individuals and communities.

When not working at HeartPlace, Sandra loves to spend time with her dear husband and 3 little children. She is dedicated to instilling a love for learning in her children through good habits, hands-on activities, nature walks and journaling, as well as emphasizing rich and noble ideas through reading great literature and living books, ones that truly inspire.
