Dr. Harry South is a general cardiologist, originally from New Jersey, who believes in using his God given talents to serve others. Raised from two working class parents, Dr. South believes in treating each patient with respect and offering the highest level of service and care.
Dr. South graduated from Rutgers University and later Morehouse School of Medicine both on academic scholarships. Over the next few years he excelled in residency and fellowship at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. While there he received two Guardian Angel Awards for exceptional patient service. He was named Chief Resident (Internal Medicine) in his third year. He was also named Chief Cardiology Fellow during his final year in fellowship.
Dr. South is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. After completing fellowship, he spent most of his time in New Jersey at a large 5 hospital community-based health system where he served as the Echocardiography director and was voted Top Doc by South Jersey Magazine.
His interests lie in preventative cardiology and ensuring his patients understand the benefits of healthy diets, exercise, and impacts of lifestyle choices on their health. He treats a myriad of disease including but not limited to hypertension, dyslipidemia, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias (such as atrial fibrillation), heart failure, and valvular heart disease.
Dr. South values work-life balance and practicing what he preaches to his patients. When not working, he spends time with his wife and daughter, two dogs, friends, and extended family. He enjoys travelling, exercising, outdoor sports, and activities.
