Dr. Ammar Al Akshar is an Interventional Cardiologist that practices out of the HeartPlace Mansfield clinic. Dr. Al Akshar’s philosophy is to do the right thing for the patient and to hold himself to the highest standards. His approach is to treat patients as a whole and take care of the entire body, not just the heart. Dr. Al Akshar‘s priority is for his patients to live their best and healthiest lives.

Dr. Al Akshar finished his Internal Medicine training at Jersey Shore University Medical Center at Neptune, NJ. He then went on to complete General Cardiology Fellowship and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Rutgers University. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. His particular focus in cardiology is coronary artery disease, complex coronary intervention, advanced heart failure, cardiac amyloidosis,
echocardiography/transesophageal echo, and arrhythmias.


Dr. Al Akshar relocated to the DFW area to be near his family. In his spare time, he enjoys family time and mostly road trips with his wife. His interests include technology, soccer, exercising, and taking care of his plants.
