  • Dr. Shafiq did his medical school and internal medicine training at UT Southwestern in Dallas. He completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the University of Florida, Jacksonville. Dr. Shafiq has a special interest in hypertension, and completed a 2-year National Institutes of Health Cardiovascular Research Fellowship with a special focus in Clinical Hypertension. He has obtained the Hypertension Specialist designation from the American Society of Hypertension. His interests also include cardiovascular disease prevention.
