Personal Narrative

  • Born and raised in Dallas, Texas Dr. Varughese attended the High School for Health Professions. He developed an interest in the field of medicine after spending summers volunteering at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. His interest and passion for Cardiology led him to complete his General Cardiology Fellowship at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. He then went on to train at the Texas Heart Institute in the field of Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. His successes and contributions can be attributed to his in-depth training, genuine passion for the field of cardiology, and personal commitment to providing accessible, understandable, and forthright information to patients and their families. Being a native North Texan Dr. Varughese found his way back to continue caring for patients in the community he calls home. He lives in Fort Worth, Texas with his loving wife. In his free time he enjoys supporting the best basketball team around, the Dallas Mavericks.
